Stroke Awareness: Know the Signs and Act Fast

The CARING Team wants to remind our neighbors that a stroke is a medical emergency, and knowing the warning signs can help save a life.

Please take a moment to remember BE FAST:

  • B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance, dizziness, or trouble walking
  • E – Eyes: Sudden vision changes, blurred vision, or loss of vision
  • F – Face: One side of the face droops or feels numb
  • A – Arms: One arm becomes weak, numb, or drifts downward
  • S – Speech: Speech becomes slurred, confused, or difficult to understand
  • T – Time: Call 911 immediately

If you notice any of these symptoms in yourself, a family member, friend, or neighbor, please do not wait to see if the symptoms pass. Call 911 right away and try to note the time the symptoms began.

Fast action can make a major difference in treatment and recovery. The CARING Team encourages everyone in our community to share this reminder with their household and neighbors.

A few seconds of awareness can help save a life.
